Public Consultation: Gambling Act 2005 Policy Statement 2022 - 2025

In accordance with the mandatory, three-year, review period the Council is reviewing its Gambling Act 2005 Policy Statements. Former policies of the previous sovereign councils of Corby Borough Council, East Northamptonshire Council, Kettering Borough Council and the Borough Council of Wellingborough have been consolidated to one policy which is now open to public consultation form the period 11 October 2021 to 8 November 2021.

Gambling Act 2005 Policy Statement 2022-2025 

The Gambling Act 2005 makes it a duty for a local authority to carry out its functions under the Act with a view to promoting the three licensing objectives:


  • Preventing gambling from being a source of crime or disorder, being associated with crime or disorder or being used to support crime
  • Ensuring that gambling is conducted in a fair and open way, and
  • Protecting children and other vulnerable persons from being harmed or exploited by gambling


The purpose of the Policy Statement is to detail how North Northamptonshire Council will comply with that duty. 

If you wish to make any comments on the above Draft Policy Statement, please ensure they are returned in writing to the above address or by email to   by 8 November 2021.  Submissions after this date may not be considered.

The Council will consider the final version of the Licensing Authority Policy Statement prior to public notification of its intended publication.
