Consultation: Licensing Act 2003 - Statement of Licensing Policy 2022-2027

North Northamptonshire Council is now the Unitary Licensing Authority for the licensing functions that were previously the responsibility of Corby Borough Council, East Northamptonshire Council, Kettering Borough Council and the Borough Council of Wellingborough.

The council is reviewing its licensing policies and its proposed Statement of Licensing Policy (SOLP) is now open to public consultation for the period 11 October 2021 to 8 November 2021.

The purpose of the SOLP is to detail how the local authority will comply with its duties under the Licensing Act 2003 and promote the following licensing objectives:

  • The prevention of crime and disorder;
  • Public Safety;
  • The prevention of public nuisance; and
  • The protection of children from harm

The new policy and all appendices, once adopted, will be deemed to have replaced the separate sovereign authorities’ arrangements currently in place.

For your comments to be considered they must be received by us no later than midnight on the 8 November 2021.

Once consultation has concluded, a final version of the Statement of Licensing Policy 2022-27 will be considered by the Council.
